Presidential Town Hall Meeting

New Futures e-Update
December 14, 2007

Prevention and treatment were the focus as representatives from nine candidates for President appeared at the Presidential Town Hall Meeting on December 2, 2007 at the Timberlane Regional Performing Arts Center in Plaistow. Sponsored by a collaborative of prevention and treatment organizations, including Friends of Recovery NH; Families Advocating Substance Abuse Treatment, Education and Recovery (FASTER); NH Alcohol and Other Drug Services Providers Association; NH Task Force on Women and Recovery; Sad Café; Faces and Voices of Recovery; and the Timberlane Regional School District, the meeting was moderated by Lisa Peakes from New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR). Candidate's representatives spoke and responded to questions about their candidate's positions on key addiction prevention, treatment and recovery issues, including ending insurance discrimination.
