June 11 Addiction, Treatment and Recovery Caucus briefing

Members of Congress and their staffs are invited to attend a June 11 briefing on managing addiction as a chronic illness that will feature Beverly Haberle from Pennsylvania Recovery Organization – Achieving Community Together (PRO-ACT) talking about how recovery community organizations are providing peer recovery support services and other speakers. As Congress debates health care reform, make sure your member of Congress attends by calling him or her today!

Wellstone/Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act

Faces & Voices of Recovery joined with allied organizations to respond to the request for information (RFI) from the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services and Treasury as they develop regulations to implement the new law. The Act was will go into effect on January 1, 2010 for most insurance plans, whether or not regulations have been finalized.
