Project Turnabout Celebrates Inaugural “All Alumni Reunion"
Mark D. Sannerud
The Advocate Tribune in Granite Falls
September, 2009
Project Turnabout/Vanguard held it’s inaugural “All Alumni Reunion” on Saturday September 12th, at the Granite Falls Campus. The event hosted close to 300 individuals celebrating the life of recovery from Alcohol, Drug, and Gambling Abuse. Project Turnabout hosted this event in conjunction with National Recovery Month (September) which is celebrating their 20th anniversary. Project Turnabouts’ Alumni joined over 70,000 Americans from across the country in events to celebrate a life of recovery. There are over 20 million Americans that are in recovery from addiction to alcohol, drugs, and gambling.
The event was a celebration of long term Recovery! Individuals and families voiced their recovery journey and their better quality of life. There were individuals in attendance with over 30 years of long term recovery. Here is an example of the communication:
I’m Don and I am in long-term recovery, which means that I have not used alcohol or drugs for more than 31 years. I am committed to recovery because it has given me and my family new purpose and hope for the future, while helping me gain stability in my life. I am now speaking out because long-term recovery has helped me change my life for the better, and I want to make it possible for others to do the same.
Project Turnabout has served those affected by Alcohol and Drug abuse since 1970, and those affected by gambling since 1992. Thousands of individuals and families have received this service, started the journey of long term recovery and are now experiencing a better quality of life.
Project Turnabout continues to serve our patients with Compassionate Hearts, in a respectful environment, and with professional staff.
